EMMA WILLIAMS

Born in 1968 Emma Williams graduated from Huddersfield University with a BA Hons in Printed Textile Design. She worked as a freelance textile designer until 1998 when she decided to paint full time. She says of her work: "My paintings are textured and always vivid. Evoking memories of a time space or mood. My many visits to Cornwall have been a constant source of inspiration, influencing my particular approach to interiors and landscapes" Colour and decorative qualities combine with flattened perspective to play an essential role in creating rich and complex pictures with a distinctive style.” Emma exhibits widely and has had many group and solo shows including; Panter and Hall, Mayfair; Stour Gallery, Wor cestershire; Thompson’s Gallery, Aldeburgh; Firbob and Peacock, Cheshire; Wexford Gallery, Eire; and White Space in Totnes, Devon. Work in public collections include Norwich Union, Norfolk and St James Hospital, Dublin.
